Quick Quotes Save the Date layout

Good morning, Alicia here today, playing along with this month's Quick Quotes challenge:  Use Memorabilia.  I am currently working on my wedding album.  So I have used my save the date postcards and the original pictures I used for the cards to create a two page layout.

Here's my second page.  I found lots of great die cuts from past kits to mix with current paper collections.  I inked up a chipboard label with Antique Linen  and another one using Midnight Confessions PowderPuff Chalking Ink then added a sticker.  I used black brads in the center of all my flowers.  I threw on a few buttons for good measure.

Spooky Window Scene with Tim Holtz Wall clock

Hello, Alicia here today with a spooky scene I have created for the season.  I used my Sizzix Big Shot to cut and emboss several layers of my card.  I also used a scary holographic sticker with ribbons to imitate a peek into a window.  I used shreds of a cotton ball for the cobweb.

The first layer is chipboard embossed with a Crafters Companion embossing folder.  I then used a light ink to highlight the chipboard and a black chalk ink to further illuminate the details.

I cut the Tim Holtz Bigz Wall Clock a couple of times.  Once in black for the base and once in dark brown.  I cut the front panel from the brown and embossed it with woodgrain.  I used a pen to accent the embossed areas of the black layer.  I did not use the clock face I cut, instead I found a metal clock face from my stash that fit perfectly.  FYI the circle size is standard and I found several punches and dies that also fit perfectly.  I used a brad to adhere the black hands. Finally, I cut just the pendulum from gold paper.

Karen Burniston Thanks and Thinking of you

Alicia with a couple of cards for you today.  I pulled out my stash of backgrounds to accent this beautiful Tutti Designs Oriental Screen die.  I layered the die on a same size background.  I used a Karen Burniston Greetings die cut sentiment in the same card stock as the card base.  I layered it on top of two layers of Memory Box Stitched Rectangle dies, some ribbon, a flower and pearls.

For my second card I used a purple palette and a different sentiment but essentially the same card.

CAS Stampin Up Thank you

Good morning!  Today I have a created another set for a card swap.  This one was a technique swap:  Scoring.  I didn't do a great job at my scoring but I wanted it to be prominent in the card so I went with a CAS style (really clean).  I barely even inked the edges!

I did use my MISTI and some masking paper to assist in the perfect placement of the flowers.

Here is a close up of my scoring, just 3 simple lines to border the sentiment popped up on foam and the edges inked for more pop!

Ingredients:
Stampin Up Avant Garden set
Stampin Up punch
white and yellow shimmer card stock
Fiskars paper cutter and scoring tool
Distress inks: Fossilized Amber, Blueprint Sketch and Peeled Paint (if I remember correctly)
Quick Quotes Powderpuff chalking ink Lemon sorbet

Quick Quotes Mulberry Thank you card

Good morning!  Alicia here today with a pretty purple card using the Mulberry Paper Pack.  I just love the shades of purples and yellows in this collection.  While I used mostly purples one layer has a bit of yellow in the design so I went with that touch of yellow and accentuated with a yellow flower and yellow ribbon.

Here is a close up of my die cutting and inking.  I rarely create any project without inking the edges.  Sometimes only lightly on a clean and simple card and sometimes heavily like on this one.  When I use dies with embossing I like to ink heavily to bring out the embossing dimension.  I stamped with the sentiment with the same Plum PowderPuff Chalking Ink .

Karen Burniston Thanks and Atlantic Heart Challenge sketch

I am really trying to purge my stash.  I am a hoarder and don't like to trash things...so using them up is my favorite option!  I have a stack of backgrounds, some I made, some gifted.  This month you will see several used as I work through using them.  I will usually sit down and make 20 backgrounds and only make one card, hence all the leftovers.  I dressed this card up with products from my stash.

Here is the sketch:

No automatic alt text available.

Ingredients:
Alcohol inks/glossy card stock
Karen Burniston sentiment die
DL Art dyed seam binding
Co-ordinations paper and misc papers from my stash

Red Rocks! Quick Quotes September Club Q Layouts

Hello, Alicia with you today and I am using the rest of my September Club Q.  I also used my PIXMA iP8720 13x19 Wireless Printer to not only print the photos but also the titles.

I am on top of it with this layout, literally and figuratively, these are photos from a trip  just last month to Colorado.  These photos are from the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison which is at 6,400 feet above sea level!  In addition, this trip was a check off my bucket list.

I used Plum Powderpuff chalking ink to cover the white board titles included with this month's kit.

Here's my PIXMA iP8720 13x19 Wireless Printer in action.  I found it very helpful to adjust the settings depending on the paper and the document.  And another helpful hint is to use Canon brand paper which makes for more vivid photos.

This is a two page layout and here is page two.  I used the die cut frames included with September Club Q.

I inked all the edges with Midnight Confessions including the white board that I previously inked with  Plum.  Double inking blends and gives more dimension to the embellishments.
