Quick Quotes Happy Happy Happy card

Hello Quick Quotes readers, Alicia here.  Today, I created a card with my Cricut.  I just love how well Quick Quotes cardstock cuts in my machine.  There is never a bad cut even with such an intricate card as this one.  The pieces came out perfectly.  I heavily chalked the card with both Navy PowderPuff Chalking Ink and Green with Envy PowderPuff Chalking Ink to bring out the details of the butterflies.  But, the best part of this card is the matching envelope!  What a great matching set with latest collection,  Earth Wind Fire.

I used plenty of embellishments to dress up my card.  I added pearls for the bodies of my butterflies. Then I added a sentiment from Earth Wind Fire 500 paper.  Finally, I embellished that with layered flowers, bling and brads.

Happy New Home: Pinterest inspired card

Good morning!  Today I am playing with dies and distress inks again.  This set was Pinterest inspired.  I was searching ideas for my Stampin Up Holiday Home stamp and die set.  This partial die cut idea came up and I had played with this technique once before.  Of course, this second try was much more successful.  I was pretty happy with this set.

Here is the original:

Quick Quotes Club Q Winter Wonderland Layout

Alicia here today with some inspiration from January's Club Q.  I created two one page layouts.  My subject is a past Christmas celebration.

I just loved the Winter Wonderland title included but since I didn't have snow pictures handy, I decided my white and silver Christmas tree photos would be pretty.  I used the circle tab die cut pieces for frames with close ups of the tree.

For my second page I used the same background paper since these pages will be side by side in my album.  I also used the die cut snowflakes on both pages edging generously with Baja Blue PowderPuff Chalking Ink.

I used the tags included on this layout, a perfect embellishment.

The one item I used NOT from this month's kit was the Families are Tied Together Half Page Vellum strip.  I found the half page size strip fit on the banner die cut with a little trimming.

I hope you have a great week!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

When I started working on a project for this hop, I discovered while I own several Disney Cricut carts, I do NOT own a Mickey one.  Frankly, I am just not a huge Disney person.  I visited Disney World many times as a child but have never taken my son...and he doesn't really want to go.  Although my hubby says when the Star Wars park opens we are visiting!  I will only agree if we can go to the Harry Potter park.

After discovering I had no Mickey cart, I pulled out the Licensed Character section of my scraprack which has a Disney section.  I found all kinds of good stickers.  I guess I thought I would use them on a scrapbook someday but they worked pretty well for my cards.  In fact after I made the landscape cards, I was lovin' Mickey and kept on going with some traditional Mickey colored cards.

Ingredients for the landscape cards:
Disney stickers
Poppy Stamps Stitched Hills Dies
Avery Elle Pierced Clouds Dies
Crafter's Companion Scenic Pines Die (Goofy Card)
misc papers including Graphic 45, Creative Memories, Bazzill, Coordinations, vellum

I guess I was hurrying...this last card isn't very straight.  Rest assure I will fix it before sending it out.  Wouldn't these be good to send to Children's Hospital?  I think that is what I will do!

Ingredients:
Disney stickers
Our Daily Bread Designs Stitched Circles
Queen & Co bling
misc papers including DCWV & Creative Memories
Quick Quotes Midnight Confessions chalking ink

Chocolate Night: Stick It Down Guest Designer

Good morning!  This morning I am sharing a double page layout using this month's sketch from Stick It Down where I am Guest Designer this month.  I am so close to being finished with my honeymoon album.  This was White Night/Chocolate Night at Sandals in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.  AND...I just happen to be flying back to my second home today!  I have a little bit different vacation planned this time and will not get to experience Chocolate Night this trip.

Here's the sketch from Stick It Down:

I love the journaling strips and this Recollections washi tape (I think it was some peacock collection) just worked perfectly!  Except for the cloud paper you would never know the paper collection was about fairy tales.

Ingredients:
We R Storytime papers:  Big Bad Wolf, Gretel and others
Recollections washi tape
Close to my heart Artbooking Cricut font
Soiree lettering Grace Script Cricut font
misc ribbon, sequins, brads
border punch

Thanks so much and don't forget to play over at Stick It Down.

Life is Sweet: Art C collage kit with Atlantic Heart Sketch

Good morning!  I recently purchased a couple of Art-C collage kits at Tuesday Morning.  I believe they were about $1 per kit.  Each kit contained a 4.5" x 4.5" sheet of paper, sheet of die cuts, doily, a piece of corrugated paper, a tag, and a wood die cut.  They looked really neat.  I used parts of both kits here.  I took a cue from the gold in the string on the tag and added some gold bling, everything else is from the kits.

Here's the sketch I used from Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge.  The chevron paper with the kit was just perfect for the chevron piece across the bottom of the sketch.

I manipulated the butterfly to give it some dimension.  I inked all the edges with Quick Quotes Java chalking ink.

Ingredients:
Art C Collage collection kits
gold sparkle bling
Quick Quotes Java Chalking ink
Stampin Up cardstock

You are Stronger than you think...

Hi, Alicia blogging today.  I created a card using the positive and negative of the die cut.  I love it when you can even use the scraps!  I did not use the actual paper but used the negative piece to create a stencil. First I covered the card base with blended inks.  Next I used the stencil to make a mountain shadow.  Then stamped the sentiment before adding the die cuts.

I used a couple of different specialty papers for the die cuts since the rest of my card was so simple.  Here's how I did it:
  1. Cut the pieces of the die out twice.  This die has two pieces which will make 4 total.
  2. Assemble two sets then cut one set to nestle behind the first set.
  3. Adhere the first set in your desired place.
  4. Adhere second set with pop dots for drama.

Guitar Man: Derek Trucks

I decided to get a little crafty before vacation.  I am a little stressed and it helped me to unwind a bit.  I am almost packed so I justified my time.  I had these pics already printed when I saw the challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2.  It is Elvis!  "Guitar Man" is a Jerry Reed song that Elvis covered and charted on the country charts with Jerry Reed on guitar.  I have used this cut before so I knew if would go smoothly.

My pictures are of Derek Trucks during a Tedeschi Trucks Band show.  You might can tell I was on the front row.  My favorite place!

Here's the sketch I used from Stick It Down:

I have not used this font and I was really happy with it.  It is a true type that I purchased with a collection.  I used a Wink of Stella black pen to highlight the interior of the letters and some of the guitar details.

Ingredients:
DCWV Teenage Dream paper stack
Font:  Captain Howdy
Cricut cart:  Quarter Note
red shimmer paper
misc card stock
Wink of Stella black
Quick Quotes Midnight Confessions chalking ink
