I made a couple of masculine Valentine's cards today.

Here's the pin.

Nuts About You, Really Good Greetings, Maggie Mata, #masculine, #handmadecards, Stampin' Up!

I made my "nuts" out of punches,  I am not sure how the "originals" were made.  About the only thing I did different is use a embossing folder for my red layer.  My son said he liked that touch. My sentiment is, of course, different, too.

Ingredients:
Hero Arts Trees, Birds and Sentiments stamp
Creative Memories 1.5" hex punch
Stampin Up .5" circle punch
Darice steel plate embossing folder
white, red and black shimmer card stock
DCWV silver metallic card stock

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

I made two versions of this card.

I didn't have an "xoxo" stamp (that I could find anyway...I am only half way through cataloging stamps) so I used a new CTMH Alpha set.  The lower case fit in the squares better but I like the fancier upper case so I tried it that way, too.

Here's the pin!

Good idea for wash tape-cute card

I hand cut the little tag.  Let me know which version you like best and I will send a little candy in the mail!  I will choose among those who ANSWER the question and must also be a follower!  Winner announced this week!

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Ingredients:
Kraft card stock
Quick Quotes Midnight Confession chalk
Misc twine
Recollections washi tape
Stampin Up Banner Blast (heart)
CTMH Alpha Curlicue stamps
CM Distressing tool
Mixd Media Schoolhouse Red ink
Recollections Vintage Black ink

Your next stop will be

Flower Girl Layout with Quick Quotes Alton

Good morning!  I am so excited and nervous about my first project for Quick Quotes.  I have created a layout for you today.  I just loved this Alton 200 paper when I first saw it in my design team pack!  I loved it so much I did not want to cover it up.  I managed to get several pictures on my layout and plenty of layers with keeping the background paper exposed.  My flower girl is my niece, B.

I did need to dress it up without covering it up so I created a frame with Alton 300 (the tiny flower side) and a Sizzix eyelet lace border die.  Then I went wild with flower dies and punches!  I then sprayed all my paper flowers with Radiant Rain Ice, I hope you can see the subtle shimmer.

I layered the paper flower cut from Alton 100 & 300 (both sides) and mixed them in with the Quick Quotes rustic metal flower embellishments.  I topped them off with pearls in the center and pearl flourishes.   And of course every single piece is inked with the Plum Crazy Powder Puff!

Quick Quotes Products:

Other Ingredients:
Pearl flourish by The Paper Studio
Pearls by Want 2 Scrap and The Paper Studio
Creative Memories plum card stock
purple glitter card stock
Tim Holtz bee die cut and embossing folder
Tim Holtz Tattered Florals movers and shapers
EK Success flower punch
Spellbinders Shapeablities Spiral Blossom Three
Sizzix border die
Radiant Rain Ice spray

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Organization Methods

Tomorrow starts the new Get Organized challenge with Tiffany at The Scraprack!  This will be my fifth time through...although I don't pay as much attention to each step as I used to do.  I have made my way through most of the steps just a few areas to finish cataloging.  If you don't know anything about Tiffany and The Scraprack, you really should check it out.  There is also a very supportive Facebook Group, you can get almost any question answered immediately and all kinds of great storage ideas are suggested.  I did acquire an actual Scraprack this year which I will highlight when I get my new room together.

For now this is what I have to show you.

I just recently purchased the Jinger Adams Over the door armoire at Tuesday Morning for only $99.  I have it over the door in my new room and have not completely utilized it yet.  I discovered the best use for the pouches when I was cataloging my stickles and paint pens, I temporarily put them here to have them upside down and decided this was a fantastic place for them!  I had them in a plastic tub before which doesn't have them ready to use like this area!  They are also very accessible once I start using this room.  I am also happy to have another category cataloged.

I have still not figured out what I want to store in the bottom portions of both sides.  Washi tape fits nicely on the left but I have way too much and most are organized with my rainbow embellishments.  The black and whites and themes are in my We R Washi Keeper,  I acquired the new stackable ones recently.  It is not quite full since most of my washi is elsewhere, so this is the storage I am sticking with for washi.  The paper tapes on top are just a little bit big for the dispenser and the containers in my armoire.

Here is my rainbow section.  If you look close enough you will see there is a container for each color's paper and embellishments.  Some colors need more room since I have boys those colors are blue and green.  You can see the washi's and ribbons lined up in the front of the container for easy viewing.

I have a lot of punches!  They are stored in a bin, divided into three drawers:  basic shapes, those that match stamps and decorative shapes.  These are still on my to-do catalog list.

This is how I store my embossing folders.  I am re-purposing an old Creative Memories storage binder and inserts.  The block storage that has 4 pockets on each side and therefore hold 8 embossing folders each.

Here's a page.  I have one side of the folder hanging on the outside of the pocket for easier viewing.  I have them organized by themes and shapes.  These are also on my to-do cataloging list as well.

Another Tuesday Morning find!  I was looking for something to store my Kiwi Lane Designer templates.  I had them in an iris container but it was not good for finding what I wanted quickly.

I found these in the closet organization section.  You can hang them anywhere!

I hope this gives you some ideas for organization of your crafty goodies and a point in the right direction if you are looking to get started on organization plan for the new year.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Altered Fleur de lis letter B

Happy Saturday!  Today I have for you a project I did last week for a partnered letter swap in one of my swap groups on FB.  I belong to several if you would like to join one or more please hit me up on my crafty FB page! So this letter was for my crafty friend Lyne!  She wanted me to use the B for her last name.  She also likes Paris and her craft room is black and white.  So this is what I came up with:

Close up of the letter with flowers and bling.  I assembled the flowers after spritzing them with Heidi Swapp Navy ink.  I used a variety of bling for the centers. The bling Fleur de lis is from The Paper Studio.

Really close up of the flower and this view gives you an idea of the subtle shimmer I added to the black fleur de lis background piece with Radiant Rain Ice spray.

I spritzed the Cricut cuts from French Manor with Tattered Angels Chalkboard spray in Mantis.

I took lots of pictures since I no longer have this item, it is already in Lyne's hands!

Ingredients:
The Paper Studio Chipboard letter & fleur de lis
Cricut cart French Manor
Graphic 45 Le Cirque Wizards of Wonder paper
Recollections Pretty as a Peacock paper
Bling:  Queen & Co, Recollections, The Paper Studio Fleur de lis and misc
Crystals by Mon Ami Gabbi
Prima flowers
Sprays and Inks:
black & white satin paint

Quick Quotes Intro Today

Good Day Everyone!
Today is the day my intro to the Quick Quotes Design Team is posted on their blog!!

I really wanted to get a little project done for the intro but I have had a ton going on in my non bloggy life!  Much of which was still along crafty lines though.  One of the events going on was my grandmother's 90th birthday!  I scanned in over 600 photos and other items from her personal photo stash.  I organized and edited them into a slide show for the actual party.  I also purchased flash drives for the entire family and gave each household a copy of  them.  Except my grandmother!  I have to put her's on a cd! She doesn't own a computer and she wants to see that slideshow AGAIN! I have explained to her, she owns all the original pictures but they are easier for her to see on the big screen.  I also made her a wonderful explosion box but did not have a chance to take any pictures.  I will share a few pictures that I scanned and the one my sister took of my box (unexploded) at the party.

Beautiful lady!

This is my grandparents and my father.

On her 90th!

The one pic of my explosion box!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Don't forget to stop over at Quick Quotes and share some blog love!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch

Good Morning!  Today I have created a very happy card!  When I saw this sketch I thought of the upcoming Valentine's holiday but I am not much of a heart girl.  I still had the new Stamp Dr sentiment stamp on my desk and based the rest of the card on it.  The sequin ribbon is hard to see but adds a little dazzle to muted card.

Here's the sketch!

Ingredients:
The Paper Loft Island Sun Starfish & Sundrenched
Dark Chocolate Shimmer paper from Paper Temptress
Stamp Dr. sentiment stamp
Creative Memories punch
Inkadinkdo patterned bugs stamp
Mixed Media Truffle ink and Judikins Chocolate Twinkle
Mon Ami Gabby sequin fiber
Handmade amber glass pin (by me)

Today I have for you a SHAKER layout!  This is not what I had in mind when I started this project, but I was using this beautiful acetate overlay and everyone is doing shaker cards, so I thought why not???  I hope you enjoy!  And if you are a movie buff you may recognize this building...it is featured in the Jodie Foster movie Little Man Tate which was filmed in my neighborhood.  This is the school where he was playing on the playground.  It was the Fairview German Language school up until just about 7 years ago and now it has been converted into upscale condos.  The picture was sprayed with Radiant Rain Ice to give it more of a frozen feel.

I used my Cricut and a CTMH cart for the title.

The "shake" are punches, Creative Memories and Fiskars punched out of shimmer paper and some left over sequins from the sequin ribbon along the edge.  Along with some clear seed beads,  I also threw in just a bit of Distress glitter.

Ingredients:
TPC Christmas Treasures Acetate Trees overlay
7 Gypsies Primrose
Radiant Rain Ice
CTMH Artbooking Cricut cart
Heidi Swapp clear snowflake stickers
Tim Holtz Distress glitter
CM & Fiskars punches
Michael's sequin ribbon
shimmer cardstock
seed beads

Up next is the lovely and talented Lori

Sketch N Scrap Twistback Thursday Layout

Here's the Sketch n Scrap Twistback Thursday sketch.  Sketch N Scrap is starting a new challenge for 2015.  They will be reusing an old sketch with a twist.  The twist this month is to use something old and use something new!

My old part is this Tim Holtz brick die.  I have had it for a while...well after working with it, it will continue to sit in the bin.  The finished product is beautiful but it was like putting a puzzle together.  As much as I tried the little "bricks" would not stay in place when I lifted the cutting plates.  They went flying all over the place!  Of course, I had to make it a bit harder by using two different papers but I wanted it to look like real brick.

The metal tab is new part of a travel set of metal tabs in white but I had to "messy" it up a bit.  The Paper Loft Island Sun paper collection is also newer than a year.

Here I used various dies for flowers and leaves.

Ingredients:
The Paper Loft Island Sun:  Coral Bay, Emerald Cover, Clearwater Springs, Sandy Beach and the Vacation Accessory sheet
The Paper Loft Everyday Life: Believe in Miracles (brick)
The Paper Loft Turbo Head:  Turbo Charge
W R Washi tape
Recollections gem
Sizzix Aster Flower Topper
Spellbinders Foliage
QuickCutz tropical leaves
Quick Quotes vellum quote and powder puffs:  Rusty Nail, Feather Gray & Tahiti

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!
