Welcome Little O Baby Shower Projects

Today I have for you another one of my Cricut Design Space subscription projects, in fact, this was my first major project on my new Explore.  I made these pieces for my cousin's shower which was Saturday.  I didn't want to reveal until after the shower.  I took my inspiration from the invitation and since I didn't own these adorable critter images my free trial of Cricut Design Space was a perfect opportunity!

I used several carts, so many that I can't figure out where I found every cut.  I have listed the information I could remember below.

Little O is what we called the baby until knowing his sex.  (Our last name begins with O)  Here's a close up of the adorable animals on the card:

I also made bottle wrappers.  I thought this wasn't too much of an undertaking since they only needed 24 wrappers.  I made six fawn from Create a Critter and six rabbits from Cricut Alphabet.  The wrapper is a napkin ring in the Baby Shower cart.

My sister sent me pictures of my projects being used Saturday.  My family lives 400 miles away so I was not able to attend.

fawn is from Create a Critter
bunny is from Cricut Alphabet
card and wrapper shapes from Baby Shower
font: Baby steps
banners ??
DCWV metallic green paper
blue embossed flourish paper
various Bazzill brown and tan papers
Creative Memories patterned paper

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:

Thanks so much for checking me out today!  I truly appreciate every one of you!

Alicia

update!  little O was born 7/21 weighing in at 8 lbs 3 oz and 21"!!!  our big boy!!  congrats to my cousins!!

Quick Quotes Altered Fleur de lis

Hi!  Alicia here today with an altered letter and fleur de lis wall hanging.  I made this project for my sister~in~law's birthday.  She loves fleur de lis.  I started by painting the chipboard piece black.  Then I designed the letter and vines in Cricut Design Space.  I cut the flowers with a manual die cut.  I cut many flowers and pieced them together inking every layer with Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalking inks.

I added dimension by intertwining the vine with the letter and flowers.

I popped some pieces on pop dots for more dimensional variation.

I distressed the flowers by crunching and folding to give them dimension.  I also used different papers to make them pop!

Quick Quotes Product used:

Other products:
Tim Holtz Tattered floral garland die
Cricut Storybook cartridge (vines)
Cricut Creative Memories Reminiscence cart (L)
black paint
brads and asst metal embellishments

Good morning!  I have made a Bee Happy card today!  I am using the last Sketch N Scrap card sketch of the month.  It is so versatile!  I flipped it and used bees instead of butterflies.  I added a bit more detail by using a honeycomb embossing folder.  I inked up the embossing sentiment piece to bring out the words.  The papers are from a kit I won from a NSD  challenge from Theresa! Thanks, I love Authentique!

Quick Quotes Inking on vellum

Hello Quick Quotes readers!  Alicia with you today and I have been playing with some Powder Puff Chalking inks.  I was experimenting with some vellum and embossing folders.  I made a three cards for a wide variety of occasions. Vellum can be so versatile.  Don't forget to check out Quick Quotes wide variety of vellum quotes.  Here are some tips I discovered while playing:
  • Chalk on the back starting lightly, you can always add more to achieve your desired effect
  • Layering the vellum on a white or a light color will allow more true color to show

  • For more coverage use a brush or large sponge (blue water)
  • For more detail use a cotton swab or small sponge tip (fish)

Quick Quotes Products:

Other products:
Cuttlebug embossing folder
Stampin Up stamp
Spellbinders die

  • Ink the edges of the vellum and all layers for a pop!
  • Use brads to hold vellum down and/or use strong adhesive behind a layer on top of the vellum

Quick Quotes Products:

Other products:
Darice embossing folder
Tim Holtz movers and shakers label die
ribbon
tan and brown card stock
CTMH Sincere Expressions stamp
brown brads

  • Coloring doesn't have to be perfect, vellum lends itself to a blended look
  • Adhere behind a heavily inked area with tiny glue dots

Quick Quotes Products:

Other products:
The Paper Studio embossing folder
Stampin Up label punch
CTMH Just to say stamp
pink fiber
Recollections brad
pink and white card stock

TO THE BAT CAVE ROBIN!!!
UP UP and AWAY!

Hope you are having a good time with our hop!  I recently asked my niece what kind of card she wanted for her 13th birthday.  I am known for my cards in the family.  She said Spider Man!!!  So this is what she got:

I wanted to put a word bubble on the front and have it look really throw back to the Sesame Street Spider Man of my youth, but my 15yo said NO!  It is perfect the way it is...his actual words were "cool".  So I left it.

My sister says she has showed it to EVERYONE, so I guess she thought it was "cool" too!  I pinned this on pinterest.  I couldn't find a punch or anything to make the eyes so they are free hand.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up spider web embossing folder
Tim Holtz spider embossing folder
Red shimmer paper
black card stock
Quick Quotes Midnight Obsession ink
Stampin Up Sizzix die Top Note
Creative Memories sentiment stickers
white card stock

Quick Quotes Gypsy Road "The World is My Oyster" layout

Hello Quick Quotes Readers!  Alicia with you today sharing a layout featuring the gem of the City of Cincinnati.  You may recognize this landmark, if you are old enough, from the opening credits of the television show WKRP in Cincinnati.  The actual sculpture is called the Genius of Water and the fountain is named in commemoration of Tyler Davidson, a local business man from the nineteenth century.  I took this photo a couple of years ago on a shoot with a photography club.  I thought it was good enough to blow up to a 5x7!

The banners at the top were precut from a Quick Quote kit and I used my Cricut Explore to cut the title from Gypsy Road 300 paper.  I also used a other die cuts and templates on various scraps of paper.

I fussy cut some stamps from the Gypsy Road 100 paper and mixed them with actual foreign stamps that I have in my stash.

Quick Quote Products used:

Other ingredients:
Petaloo teastained flowers
foreign postage stamps
Spellbinders large scallop rectangle die
Kiwi Lane templates Mini Scallop 1A & 1B
Reminisce CM Cricut font
vintage buttons laces with black floss

Wednesday Winner and We R Hip Hip Hooray Birthday cards

Welcome to Wednesday and Winners!  But first to finish off all the birthday celebrations I have a couple of festive birthday cards.  The first is a CASE from the NSD celebration at The ScrapBook blessings Club Facebook group.

I thought the punch out was too cute, unfortunately the punch I was using broke.  ugh!  It was the Stampin Up scallop square and it is so old they don't make it anymore.  I hate that I have matching stamps for it and no punch!  So anyway, I had to find a punch that was larger than the scallop square and that was this 2" round.  I made the dots with a pencil eraser.

The second card was also a challenge.  I can't remember the details, but I think it turned out cute!

Ingredients:
We R Hip Hip Hooray papers
Creative Memories punch and border punch
Stampin Up label punch
American Crafts twine
asst brads
misc card stock and inks

Quick Quotes Father's Day cards

Hi!  Alicia with you today for Quick Quotes and this week we are featuring a Father's Day theme.  I think that the Gypsy Road 300 with the old cars just screams Father's Day!  It was the first thing I thought of to tackle this assignment.  I just upgraded my Cricut to an Explore so I started searching Father's Day images on Cricut Design Space.  By the way, Quick Quotes papers cut like a dream on the card stock setting.

The first card features a cut from a cartridge I own, Artfully Sent.  It was very easy to cut and assemble.  I added pop dots to the hat/mustache/bow tie.  I also added some additional die cuts to dress it up a bit. And inked it all up with Midnight Confessions PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  I am sending this one to my dad.

I cut this image from Design Space because it had a retro feel and popped it up. I used a Tim Holtz edge die on the paper and again added some gear and car die cuts with some neat brads.  I will be giving this one to my Father in law.

This image seemed a bit more modern but with the addition of screw head brads and black "stud" ribbon, I think it turned out very neat looking.

Quick Quotes Products used:

Other products:
Cricut Design Space various images ( I am still working on my free trial subscription so please forgive me for not paying attention to the names and cartridges of the images.)
Pop up card CTMH Artfully sent
Tim Holtz movers and shakers dies

asst brads
