Creative Memories Discover Power Palette and Stick it Down sketch

Today's layout is from the same playtime in the park as yesterday's.  The older kids left Julia out that's why she was climbing on the monkey bars while the older kids kicked the ball around.

I used Creative Memories scrapbook albums (at least for the next 100 albums)...lol, I might not have THAT many but plenty in stock.  So I am trying to cut down on the bulk. Since these pages had three different "strips" of paper, I didn't want the bulkiness of a bottom piece (since CM albums have that)...so I stuck this layout directly to the album pages that were already in my album (less than 10 pages to go now!).  Therefore, the pictures are not that great.

Here's the sketch from Stick it down:

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Discover power palette including paper. stickers and paper buttons
brown floss
Kiwi Lane bracket 2 template
Quick Quotes chalking ink Mocha Moma

Quick Quotes January Club Q Frosty Mini Album

Hello Quick Quotes followers, it's Alicia today continuing to play with the Quick Quotes January Club Q.  I had the perfect event for the mini album included in the altered kits.  I created an album for my step son's birthday.

This was his birthday weekend 4 years ago.  He has grown so much! He is 17 now!!

I inked up the edges of the chipboard pieces generously with Sky Blue PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  I thought it made for a very pretty frosty look without being too feminine.  I centered some darker blue gems inside the metal brads included in this month's Club Q for a more masculine feel.

The end.

other products:
Recollections gems
Stampin Up ticket punch

Quick Quotes January Club Q Let it Snow layout

Good morning Quick Quotes readers!  Alicia with you today showing off the kids skiing in this darling double page layout.  This month's January Club Q has so much frosty goodness!  I just love all the snowflakes, in paper, chipboard and bling!

I inked up some of the chipboard circles that were part of the altered kit with Coconut White PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  I just love the "worn" look of the white on chipboard.  I also used Coconut White PowderPuff Chalking Ink on the chipboard snowflakes.  Here's page one with the boys running off to the slopes and dodging the camera.

The girls did better, they posed for some pics before taking off to ski.  I don't ski, I hold down a family table in the lodge with the food and drinks and sometimes if I get enough space, I can scrapbook!

Here's some close ups of the variety of beautiful snowflakes found in this month's Club Q.

All products used came from the Quick Quotes January Club Q
plus the following inks:

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I will be back in a couple of days with a mini album from January Club Q !

Vintage Journey January Challenge Luggage card

My goal for 2016 is to be a month ahead on DT and blog hop projects...I am not quite there, but I am caught up enough that I thought I would spend some time on a challenge.  When I saw the challenge over at A Vintage Journey blog, I knew I had the perfect die to break out!  I kept reading the blog and was also inspired by this post using acetate and embossing.  I just love that butterfly so I had to try it!  My suitcase didn't come out quite as gorgeous but I am satisfied.

I have used this die before and knew I would be making multiple cuts.  First I used confetti card stock for the base.  Then I cut just the suitcase insert in acetate.  Finally, I cut the entire card out of my chosen paper and removed the suitcase.

I ran the acetate through my Big Shot with the chosen embossing folder.  I then played with the alcohol inks.  My fingertip is still mushroom colored!  I also used copper pigment ink instead of a pigment powder which would have been more of a metallic look.  I wanted to go for a more weathered look.

The mistake came with the adhesion.  I tried red lined tape and mini glue dots but neither would adhere to the inked side of the acetate.  I finally used 3 in 1 glue.  It turned the ink greenish.  I decided to roll with it...you wouldn't have even know if I hadn't told you, huh?

I stamped the Tim Holtz sentiment in Brilliance Coffee Bean and embossed with Clear Bark all layered on a Spellbinders label cut of the confetti card stock.

How can I add these feathers?  I found them while digging for brown ribbon, they were in my "brown embellishments" container.  I found a super heavy adhesive ribbon from DCWV travel collection, it was thick enough to layer on top of the ends of the feathers.  I think they turned out nice.

Ingredients:
Sizzix pop up card die with luggage die insert
Lifestyle crafts embossing folder
acetate
Ranger alcohol ink mushroom
Stampin Up off white confetti paper
Quick Quotes Mocha Moma chalking ink
K & Co Life's Journey paper and stickers

Staz On Timber Brown ink
Tim Holtz Lost and Founds stamps
