Creative Memories Peacock with Stick it Down Double Page Sketch

More honeymoon layouts...my regular readers must be getting tired of beautiful scenes of my husband in Jamaica...and pictures of great food.  Vacations are great, unfortunately we have to work our tosh off to get to be in paradise for a week.  So for today's installment I used a double page layout sketch from Stick it Down.  It was pretty easy using the Peacock collection, lots of pretty papers to choose from and every thing matched!

Here's the sketch:

Quick Quotes Swan Lake Layout

Hello Quick Quotes readers, Alicia posting today. I created a layout using up some more of the Quick Quotes May Club Q pieces.  I just loved the die cut photo frame.  I wanted to use some really pretty pictures and Spring Grove is the prettiest place I know!  It is just minutes from my home and I often go bike riding and take pictures as was the case on this day.

Here are some details of the title and flowers.  I used red lined tape to adhere the title to the ribbon.  I find it is the best adhesive for ribbon.

A helpful hint I discovered is to use a 5x7 print to fill more than one frame.  I love the effect.

Quick Quotes products used:
Honeycomb 101, 102, 103
Urban Oasis 101, 105
Earth, Wind and Fire 102 exclusive to Quick Quotes Private and Mini Reserves in 2016

Half-o-ween ATC's with Tim Holtz stamp

Today I am celebrating Half 'o ween with Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  As soon as I saw the challenge, I thought it would get me out of the spring floral kind of thinking...you'll see I have some pretty cards coming up soon.  I hadn't made any ATC's in a minute either, so my ideas started to flow.  I pulled out my box of Halloween stamps and some Halloween embellishments and it took no time at all.  I find ATC's are great for using up remnants of projects past. On both cards I used some stamped acetate beakers that I originally made for a science project layout.  I also used a stamp I have had a while, a Tim Holtz ATC Halloween stamp on both pieces with much different results.

The first one is pearly and detailed. I just loved the fiber on the bottom.

I colored the "liquid" inside with an alcohol ink marker in purple.  I also colored some of the flourishes on the stamped image to continue the "vapors".

Ingredients:
Tim Holtz Components ATC Halloween stamp
acetate
Staz on black ink
Inkadinkado Test Tube stamps
Chromatix purple pen
Mix'd Media black ink
Ranger Pearl embossing powder
white and lavender card stock
Spider sticker
Recollections ribbon

On ATC #2 I used the same stamp but a chunky embossing powder and the effect is quite different.  The face of the skull just melted into a real spooky image.  That is when I got the idea to use the acetate beakers, it just looked like it was "captured" inside a bottle.

I shimmer misted the back layer of this one.

The satin bat ribbon is hard to notice in the picture although IRL it is quite puffy and stands out.  I hung the little guys upside down.

Ingredients:
Tim Holtz Components ATC Halloween stamp
acetate
Staz on black ink
Inkadinkado Test Tube stamps
Mix'd Media black ink
Recollections Aged Black embossing powder
satin bat ribbon
spooks embellishment
Tattered Angels black magic shimmer mist
black and white card stock

Camper Bus Unique Wedding Card with Local King Rubber

Today I have for you a card I made for a friend's wedding.  Their wedding reception theme was travel and their cake was a bus just like this!  I really wanted to make a unique personal card for my friends.  I messed up writing on the envy (don't tell) so I stacked a couple of die cuts on top to make it even fancier.

Here's a picture of the actual cake:

I took my time in piecing together the van and gifts.  I wanted all the layers to look realistic.  Here's a look from behind:

A close up of my bus.  The bottom suitcase was cut from a collage sheet from the same paper collection.  I had made a 8.5x11 sheet of scraps and stamped flourishes on them.  I originally made ATC's but when I ran across the scrap I thought it looked like fancy wrapping paper.  I feel the weakest part of the card is my tin can streamers for the back.  I just cut metallic squares and punched tiny holes to tie them up with floss.

Ingredients:
The Paper Loft Shades of Gray
Local King Rubber Stamp and die cut from Summer Vacation
SU sentiment Sassy Salutations
misc heart stamps
Ranger silver embossing powder
Judikins black detail embossing powder
misc floss and velvet charcoal ribbon
Spellbinders label die cut
Tim Holtz packages and bows die cut
Creative Memories sticker (bow)
white and metallic silver card stock

DCWV Hey Sailor! with May card sketch

This is my first ever spinner card!  I was inspired by my friend Theresa's blog hop this past weekend featuring spinner cards.  They looked so cool so I watched the tutorial.  It didn't seem that hard and it really wasn't!  I have been wanting to play along with DCWV, so this spinner and their sketch were a perfect match!

I am not tech savvy enough to do a video, so I am showing several pics of the card with the wheel in different areas around the spinner.

The base of my card is the DCWV paper (navy with polka dots), I used white card stock for the top layer and cut the circles with my circle cutter removing .25" between the two.  I layered more navy and white paper from the DCWV stack using the sketch.  I stamped, embossed and colored my image.  I popped the entire "top" of the card on pop dots to give the penny room to move.

Here's their sketch.  I couldn't put my embellishments along the rail of the spinner so I placed them up top to stand out more against the white card stock.

Here's a close up of the penny spinning mechanism really just pennies and pop dots!  amazing!  I do suggest purchasing round pop dots.  I only had square so I snipped the corners off to round it a bit and shook it up like the video illustrated to round off the corners.  The easiest way would be to just use round ones to start.

Ingredients:
DCWV Hey Sailor! paper pad
stamps: ODBD Smooth Sailing, CTMH Seaside Greetings, SU Hello Sailor
Mix'd Media Indigo ink and Wow Clear embossing powder
AC Brown Sugar ink and Recollections clear bark and champagne embossing powders
Quick Quotes Navy chalking ink
SU scallop circle punch
CM circle cutter and navy pen
two pennies and some pop dots
